About
My path to this field began after my own life experiences.
Counselling was not as widely known or accepted.
Emotions were often seen as a sign of weakness or failure,
while fears and stigmas existed and still do about mental health.
Today,
I am an advocate of having at least one person,
whether it's a personal or professional relationship,
who has your best interest.
I believe real and honest conversations can help us heal and grow.
Alongside counselling,
I have worked in the following fields:
Client Services
Child & Youth Care
Coaching
Social Work
Psychosocial Rehabilitation
Suicide Prevention
Treatment Areas
Improving Mood & Emotional Processing
Healthier Boundaries & Relationships
Cultural & Identity Challenges
Body-Mind Connection & Self-Awareness
Counselling Philosophy
Before any real therapy can take place,
connection & trust must be established.
Our first priority is getting to know each other
and learning more about your life.
I use empathy, genuine curiosity & humour to build a
safe & negative-judgement-free space.
Our work will build on self-awareness & acceptance
as often healing & growth can take place after this.
If we are not a good fit to work together,
I will offer my support to find another service in your community.
1-1 Counselling for:
Youth (15+)
Over the years working in the child and youth care field, many young people report feeling safe and trusted by me to share their personal relationships and challenges, attachment, mental health symptoms, family concerns and traumas, including personal issues such as self-harm, substance use, suicidal thoughts, and identity exploration.
I have supported youth for more than a decade from diverse and marginalized populations to build hope for their future and adult lives.
Early Adults
Early adults often share feeling easily understood by me as I bring relevant examples and lived experiences in our work together.
I provide a safe and curious space to problem solve issues such as identity and self-acceptance/esteem, school and work transitions, family and personal relationship conflicts, struggles with mental health, substance use and attachment, trauma, abuse/neglect, and other challenges that can often surface during these years.
Adults 30+
With education and knowledge of lifespan development, I have supported adults with issues including but not limited to trauma, loss and grief, mental health and stress, family and relationship support, transitioning from early-mid or mid-later adulthood, substance use/addictions, and childhood attachment issues.
Please do not hesitate to reach me to discuss any issues concerning you as we can decide if I can support you or share with you other services in your community that may be better suited.
